Petco opens its first rural retail concept in our client community of Floresville, Texas
(Floresville, TX) — Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. is launching a new retail concept to serve the needs of pets and farm animals in small towns and rural communities. The first of its kind, Petco Neighborhood Farm & Pet Supply will open in our client community of Floresville, Texas this Friday, June 17.
Petco cited data from Synergos Technologies showing that 14% of the U.S. lives within rural communities, allowing for an estimated $7 billion total addressable market in these urban areas.
Petco CEO Ron Coughlin expressed that these rapidly growing markets are searching for somewhere to turn to for the health and wellness of their animals, including pets and farm animals alike. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to serve more pets by dramatically expanding local access to healthy pet products and services,” said Coughlin in a news release earlier this week.
In addition to products to support animal wellness and nutrition, the new store concept will feature mobile vaccinations, grooming services, and self-wash stations. Consumers will also have access to different fulfillment options including same-day delivery, buy online and pick up in store, and curbside pickup.

Petco Neighborhood Farm & Pet Supply is located at 309 10th St. in Floresville. The Floresville Economic Development Corporation will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting for the grand opening of the new store concept on Friday, June 17 at 1 p.m. Petco will also host a Family Fest on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and invite the community to bring their families and pets for afternoon of fun, food, music, games, and more.
