Eagle Lake, Texas, has partnered with The Retail Coach with plans to grow the City’s retail base, increasing economic development in Eagle Lake. After analyzing Eagle Lake’s existing market and working closely with existing businesses and retailers, The Retail Coach’s first step in this process will be to determine the City’s retail trade area, which is the defined boundary from which Eagle Lake draws 80-85% of its primary consumers. Using that information, the team will create retail profile reports and prepare marketing tools to represent The City of Eagle Lake nationally to retailers, restaurants, and developers. To determine which dominant retail category goods consumers are leaving Eagle Lake to purchase, the team will conduct a gap/opportunity analysis, which is essential in determining which types of retailers to target.
